Michael Winterstein is a Partner at Teplitsky, Colson LLP and a member of the Colson Group. His practice encompasses a wide range of commercial and employment litigation matters. Michael has a special interest in employment litigation and acts for both employers and employees across a variety of industries, with a focus on executives and employees in the financial services sector.
Michael has represented clients in wrongful dismissals, constructive dismissals, human rights complaints, pension issues, allegations of employee fraud, theft of confidential and proprietary information, breach of fiduciary duties, restrictive covenants and the interpretation of share and equity plans. Michael also regularly acts for financial institutions in employee-related litigation and advisory matters.
Michael understands the importance of efficient results in a timely manner. Michael is an exceptional negotiator who adopts creative strategies to obtain the best possible outcomes for his clients.
Access to justice and social responsibility are very important to Michael. Michael regularly volunteers at the Wellspring “Money Matters Program” where he provides pro-bono employment legal advice to patients with cancer. While in law school, Michael volunteered and worked for Community Legal Services, a pro-bono legal clinic, for three years where he represented clients in criminal and civil matters, administrative matters and landlord and tenant disputes. While at the clinic, Michael successfully represented multiple students on academic appeals before the Senate Review Board Academic.
