Jonathan Kulathungam is a partner at Teplitsky, Colson LLP. After completing his articles at Teplitsky, Colson LLP in 1999, he joined the firm as an associate and then became a partner in 2008.
Jonathan has a broad and diverse litigation practice including partnership and shareholder disputes, construction litigation, land development litigation, commercial leasing, professional negligence claims, employment litigation, and general breach of contract claims.
Though he has significant court experience, including appellate hearings, and has developed a reputation as an effective litigator, Jonathan attempts to provide cost efficient practical business solutions for his clients.
Jonathan has appeared as counsel in all levels of court in Ontario, including the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court, and the Court of Appeal. He has also appeared as counsel before various tribunals including the Law Society of Upper Canada (Discipline Hearing Panel), the National Parole Board and acted as counsel for the Real Estate Council of Ontario (“RECO”) and also represented clients before RECO.
Besides having a busy and successful practice, Jonathan continues to be involved in the education process by acting as a judge for law school moots and a speaker at numerous CLE programs (for the OBA and LSUC). He also routinely speaks at universities, colleges and schools throughout Ontario. He has acted as the Chair of the firm's Articling and Mentorship Program and been part of the Articling Program for over 14 years.
Jonathan is involved in the community as a youth mentor and acts on various boards for charities and not-for- profit organizations.
